How reward redemption works

Once a customer's card is full, redeeming the reward is a short, staff-confirmed step — not something a customer can do on their own from their phone.

Redeeming, step by step

  1. The customer's card reaches the required number of stamps and shows as complete.
  2. The customer shows their card on their phone to a staff member.
  3. Staff finds the customer in the dashboard and confirms the redemption.
  4. The reward is given, and a new card starts automatically from zero for the next round.

This staff-confirmed step is deliberate — it keeps the reward under the shop's control rather than relying on the customer's own phone as proof, and it stops a reward from ever being claimed by mistake.

Why a card can't be redeemed twice

Each completed card can only be redeemed once. If two redemption attempts happen close together — for example, a double-tap — the system only accepts the first one and blocks the second, so the same reward can never be claimed twice by accident.

Worth knowing: once a reward is redeemed, the customer's card doesn't stay "full" — it resets and starts counting toward the next reward straight away.

Common questions

Can a customer redeem a reward without staff confirming it?
No, redemption always needs to be confirmed by a staff member from the merchant dashboard.
Can the same reward be claimed twice?
No, the system only accepts one redemption per completed card and blocks any duplicate attempt.
Does the card reset after redeeming a reward?
Yes, automatically — a new card starts from zero right after redemption, ready for the next round of stamps.
What if a customer says their card is full but the shop can't confirm it?
The shop's dashboard is the source of truth for stamp count, so staff can always check the customer's actual progress there before redeeming.
Does the reward rule stay the same after each redemption?
Yes, unless the shop changes it — the same rule applies to every new card going forward.
